Scenes from a brunch

February 13, 2011 § 2 Comments

I know, Mom warned me not to try to feed everybody, because she knows I always want to and that I would run out of food money so fast and would have to starve or subside on lentils and lentils alone (which, honestly, would not be so bad).

But sometimes, you owe your friends and yourself some bounty.

And I enjoy making the food, and I enjoy feeding people. Muffins and citrus salads and stratas and hashbrowns and mimosas make happiness. It’s scientific fact. If that isn’t why I have money to spend, I don’t know what it’s for.

Lexie asked if we could have brunch forever. Like, could we be grown ups and still get together and have food?

And I said of course, because, really, there is nothing else I want out of my life.
